The Carey Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was established in 1993 though the joint efforts of local businessmen and women. The purpose of the Carey Area Chamber of Commerce is to promote the Village of Carey and its business and professional community. The Chamber of Commerce works to gather and disseminate information and ideas to its membership and others interested in our community. The Chamber also functions to foster a positive business climate through interaction of men and women from the various business and industrial establishments as well as local citizens.

The Chamber's new gift certificate program is a great member service. The purchase of a Carey Chamber Gift Certificate is a flexible gift and will assure that dollars are spent at our local businesses. The program through CertifiChecks will help area merchants attract and keep local dollars.

Carey, Ohio, is the home of the elegant Basilica and National Shrine of Our lady of Consolation. The Basilica and National Shrine draw thousands of visitors to our area each year. Also located nearby are the Indian Trail Caverns, home of Sheridan Cave noted for its recent archaeological finds. In the Spring of 2001, the Sheridan Cave was awarded an Ohio Bicentennial Historical Marker. The marker was uniquely designed and die cast, then dedicated on site by the Ohio Bicentennial Commission on August 10, 2001.
